He Doesn’t Remember Tollner Quite So Fondly

Re: Chris Dufresne’s Ted Tollner soliloquy [Feb. 5]:

How soon we forget. Ted Tollner ruined more than one season at USC with horrible decisions, and in light of his career move to stay at San Diego, it looks like not much has changed. The Citrus Bowl of 1986 was an unmitigated disaster, with a not too highly touted Auburn team thoroughly spanking the listless and apparently uncoached Trojans.

He may or may not be the saint Dufresne thinks he is, but Teddy was run out of town on a rail, and the same thing will happen if the Aztecs go 3-8 this season.
