Ice Dogs Defeat Bakersfield, 3-2

The Ice Dogs defeated the Bakersfield Condors, 3-2, in a West Coast Hockey League game Saturday before 7,580 at the Long Beach Arena.

The night before, a 10-player fight marred Long Beach’s 5-3 victory against the same team.

Friday’s melee began with 2:36 left in the second period as officials tried to separate Long Beach’s Tomas Harsany and Bakersfield’s Craig Martin.

But when Bakersfield’s Paul Willett cross-checked Long Beach’s David Kudelka in the face, an all-out brawl ensued.

Play was delayed more than five minutes and seven players were ejected, including three from Long Beach.
