Army Copters Crash; 7 Reported Killed
Two Army Blackhawk helicopters crashed during a nighttime exercise on the North Shore of Oahu, across the island from Honolulu, according to fire officials and media reports. Early reports said seven people were killed.
An Army spokeswoman would say only that there had been an incident involving two UH60 helicopters during the exercise.
Thirty helicopters were involved in ferrying nearly 1,000 soldiers from Wheeler Army Airfield to a base in Kahuku, according to an earlier Army advisory warning.
