Continuing efforts to expand its reach, the Petersen Automotive Museum, in cooperation with Cadillac, presents “Fantasy and Fins: The Artist and the Automobile.” The special exhibit explores the effect of the automobile on society through the unique perspective of the artist.

Featured artist for the event, which runs through May 28, is Nicola Wood, whose paintings hang in a number of major collections. The “Fantasy and Fins” exhibit offers museum goers a visual history of how artists through the years have depicted the automobile in American life. Complementing the automotive art is a collection of custom cars by such disparate notables as Art Deco designer Figoni et Falaschi and modern hot-rod stylist Boyd Coddington. The Petersen Museum is at 6060 Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children and $5 for seniors.
