* UC RIVERSIDE (8-14) at UC IRVINE (21-3), 7, KUCI-FM (88.9)--These teams have taken opposite paths since the Anteaters beat the Highlanders, 80-72, on Dec. 23. Irvine has won 15 of 16 since then, and is in first place in the Big West Conference, with a 1 1/2-game lead over Utah State. Riverside, which joins the Big West next season, won its first game in a month Monday, 64-61 over lowly St. Mary’s. Mark Miller scored 16 points. This game doesn’t count in the conference standings.
