Out in the Outback With ‘Survivor’ Crew

There’s no $1-million prize, and you won’t get famous for even 15 minutes, but at least on the “Survivor II Outback Experience” you get three squares a day and don’t have to guess when you’ll go home.

The eight-day guided trip, inspired by the popular CBS series, takes participants to the privately owned ranch, called Goshen Station, in the Australian Outback where the show was shot. For $1,080 per person, you get to bike, canoe, fish and hike in the woodlands and rain forest surrounding the Herbert River in North Queensland. Stops include sites where the two “Survivor” teams set up camp. Viewing kangaroos and crocodiles and holding a mock “tribal council” based on the series are other highlights.

Tours depart Cairns every Sunday from May 6 through November.
