Used Holiday Cards Can See New Season
Those used holiday cards don’t have to be discarded. The Costa Mesa Sanitary District is collecting them so they can be recycled into new cards.
The card fronts are mailed to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, a nonprofit home for abused and homeless children in Boulder City, Nev.
The ranch has recycled all types of greeting cards for the past 20 years. The sanitary district has collected more than 650 pounds of greeting cards over the last three years to send to the ranch.
Until Jan. 12, the sanitary district will have collection bins at City Hall, 77 Fair Drive; the Costa Mesa Senior Center, 695 W. 19th St.; and the Costa Mesa Employees Federal Credit Union, 2701 Harbor Blvd.
Cards may also be mailed to St. Jude’s Ranch, 100 St. Jude St., Boulder City, NV 89005, throughout the year. Information: (714) 754-5307.
