Los Alamitos Meeting Begins

The Los Alamitos Race Course winter quarter horse and mixed breed racing meeting begins tonight.

The 50-night meeting will feature three nights of racing each week, Friday through Sunday, except for Super Bowl Sunday on Jan. 28, and will conclude April 29.

First post times are 7:15 p.m. Fridays, 6:30 p.m. Saturdays and 5:30 p.m. Sundays.

The $25,000 Millennium Handicap for older horses at 350 yards is scheduled for tonight.

Los Alamitos will expand its schedule to four nights a week for its 131-night summer and fall meeting May 3 through Dec. 16. That meeting includes the $1.3-million Los Alamitos Million Futurity on Dec. 15 and the $500,000 Champion of Champions race Dec. 16.
