It Might Be Cool to Make a Couple
In reference to reader Louis Abrahamson’s question as to why the Lakers don’t employ Rick Barry to teach the “Big Clank” how to shoot free throws underhand, the answer is simple and comes from Mr. Barry himself. Barry claimed that he could have Shaq shooting a minimum of 70% from the line using his underhand style, but today’s players refuse to use that style because it just isn’t cool.
As Metallica says, “Sad But True.”
