Water Industry Offers Scholarships
High school students interested in a career in water management can enter a scholarship contest sponsored by the Orange County Water District and the California Water Awareness Campaign committee.
Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to California high school seniors. Students must submit an essay answering the question, “How do you see your future in the water industry?” Answers to a Water Scholar 2001 questionnaire must also be submitted.
Campaign coordinator Lynne Wichmann said an industry career can include “everything from engineering to education to public policy.”
Awards will be presented during the Water Awareness activities in Sacramento in May. Deadline for entries is Feb. 15. Applications are available by calling (714) 378-3228 or online at https://www.wateraware.org.
