Drawing Line at Genetics

Thank you for the article on Scott Painter [“Venturing Where Others Before Him Have Failed,” Jan. 14]. I don’t think you could have found a better definition of a much-vaunted “e-commerce executive”: a person who has produced nothing for and contributed nothing to society.
He does seem to have ability: having others pay his way through life. Now he wants to get into the automobile business. His mentor appears to be Bob Lutz, who, along with Bob Eaton, fattened up Chrysler Corp. and happily sold it off to Daimler-Benz. Now, Painter says he is interested in genetic research. For everyone’s sake, Painter, stay away from cloning. Just let your breed die out quietly.
