The Rev. King’s Fight for Civil Rights

* Re “Remembering King’s Dream: March, Ceremony in Oxnard Honor the Slain Civil Rights Leader,” Jan. 16.

I don’t think that Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream has come true, not 40 years after his great speech that still brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it.

We have won some battles but the war is far from over. Why do we have guns? If his dream was for all of us to be friends, then why do we still have wars against other countries? I know it is to help others but still may it stop. Please, may it all stop.
