Vanguard Earns Overtime Win

Rachel Fikse scored two crucial baskets to help Vanguard defeat host Biola in overtime, 77-76, Saturday in a Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball game.

Fikse’s basket with 11 seconds remaining in regulation helped send the game into overtime, and she scored another basket with 12 seconds left in overtime to give Vanguard (11-5, 4-3) the win.

Becki Huddle scored 18 points, and Kelly Boeke had 15 points to lead Vanbuard.

Biola 73, Vanguard 71--Nate Strong had 23 points for the host Eagles (15-2, 5-2). Dennis Keane scored 24 points to lead Vanguard (4-14, 0-7).
