Uniform Rules on Recounts Urged
The state’s 67 county election supervisors gathered for the first time since the disputed presidential race and called on the Legislature to adopt uniform voting technology throughout the state.
The Florida State Assn. of Supervisors of Elections also voted to find a single set of standards on how to conduct a recount. “We do not want to go through another election with the punch card ballot,” said Kurt Browning, elections supervisor of Pasco County.
The Legislature could consider the recommendations during its upcoming session.
