Nations Recall Holocaust Horrors

Europe recalled one of its darkest eras as ceremonies from London to Lithuania marked the 56th anniversary of the Auschwitz camp’s liberation from Nazis.

Britain and Italy held their first Holocaust memorial days while survivors, spiritual leaders and politicians across the continent pledged to remember the lessons about intolerance.

Six million Jews died in the Holocaust, which also claimed the lives of gays and Gypsies.
