Global Warming
* The headline “Warming Issue Persists” (editorial, Jan. 27) would have been more accurate if it had been “Warming Issue Escalates.”
We are much worse off today than we were a decade ago when global warming first raised serious scientific concerns. President Jimmy Carter initiated solar energy programs during the oil shortage. It is too bad that Carter was not as good a president as he was an engineer.
If he had been, we would be well on the way to solving the global warming problem today.
