Officials Share Ideas on Fighting LAX Expansion
Nearly 200 residents gathered along with Inglewood officials and legal experts at a public forum Saturday to discuss their opposition to the Los Angeles International Airport expansion.
For much of the four-hour meeting, officials outlined what will likely be some of the city’s formal responses to environmental impact study conclusions released in January. Residents voiced concern about increased traffic and air and noise pollution.
Inglewood has spent about $100,000 preparing its response, which includes health, environmental and legal impacts, City Atty. Charles Dickerson said. Inglewood and other cities’ responses to the study must be submitted by July 25 to Los Angeles World Airports, which runs LAX and other city-owned airports.
