National Guard Troops Called to Persian Gulf
More than 120 National Guard soldiers have been deployed to Kuwait.
The soldiers of Alpha Company, based in Fullerton, are from across Southern California. They will travel to the Persian Gulf to support Operation Desert Spring, which provides security for Patriot missile batteries that protect Kuwait from the threat of SCUD missiles from neighboring Iraq.
The deployment is to begin in September and end in early February.
