With its town drunk and other nontraditional staging ideas, Sylvie Guillem’s bold 1998 revision of “Giselle” hasn’t exactly delighted conservative balletomanes. But the chance to see Guillem in the title role has made a hot ticket of the production’s American premiere by Milan’s venerable Teatro alla Scala Ballet at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Laurent Hilaire--like Guillem a former Paris Opera Ballet luminary--dances Albrecht with her on Friday and Sunday, and Massimo Murru is cast in the role opposite her on Saturday night. At the Saturday matinee, however, the doomed peasant girl and her disguised noble lover will be played by Gilda Gelati and Riccardo Massimi. * “Giselle,” Teatro alla Scala Ballet, Orange County Performing Arts Center, 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. Friday, 8 p.m.; Saturday, 2 and 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. $20 to $80. (714) 556-ARTS.
