Quiet Evening at Home: Friday night, I would have Shabbat at my house with some friends, and I’d like it to be done really traditionally. After that everyone would just talk, and my musician friends bring their instruments, and I’d have my cello, and we’d sit around by the fire and pass the night that way.

Walk With the Animals: Saturday morning after sleeping late I’d get up and put all the animals in the truck and go on a hike in Temescal Canyon, though sometimes you can’t take your dogs off the leash up there. I’d go for a long hike and take a picnic and pick a spot and hang out with a friend, and my Labrador Virginia and Skeeter the dachshund.

Sophie’s Big Adventure: I’d love to do something I’ve never done before. I’ve never been to Pasadena! I’d like to go to the Huntington and pick up my friend Harold, who lives there, so he’d know a good place to eat. Then one of my favorite things is walking on the beach at night with the animals, and then we’d rent movies and crawl into bed, the animals too.

The Treatment: After a drive up the coast Sunday morning (with the animals), I’d go to the Olympic Spa in Koreatown and get a killer massage. You start with a mugwort bath--herbs and minerals--and then you go into the jet streams and then the cool pool. I jump around and they say it’s bad for me and they yell at me in Korean, but I don’t think it’s bad for me. And then they call you for your massage, which is so amazing, the rubbing of the skin with oils and aromatherapy. And they pound you to death. You can tell them not to be so hard, but they won’t listen to you. And then you get to lie down on the lava rocks.

Eating Well: My favorite restaurant is in Alhambra, the Tin In, a Chinese vegetarian restaurant that’s open until 10 p.m. It so good. My favorite dish is sizzling steak--they make it up somehow. And the goose appetizers. And one of the most divine things is the salmon. And the portabello mushrooms with basil.
