Retired Ugandan Bishop to Celebrate Eucharist

The Rt. Rev. Christopher Senyonjo, retired bishop of Uganda, will celebrate the Holy Eucharist at morning services at 9 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday. Senyonjo was asked by the fledgling chapter of Integrity Uganda to provide counseling and pastoral care to gay and lesbian Anglicans in Uganda. Now under threat of arrest in his country, he will discuss his campaign against discrimination and his own resulting political and career troubles.

* The Ezra Center will present a lecture on “Early Christianity and Judaism” led by Stanley Jones. The focus will be on the historical beginnings of Christianity and how it evolved from a messianic Jewish sect in a restive Palestine. Helena Buscema and Friends will perform “Under the Stars 2001,” a concert including jazz and pop spiritual songs.
