3 Who Drowned in Cabo Were Cruise Passengers

Three Americans killed when a glass-bottom boat capsized off Cabo San Lucas were cruise-ship passengers who sailed to Mexico from Los Angeles, Carnival Cruise Lines said Saturday.
Paulina Armijo, 54, of New Mexico, Elizabeth Steven, 64, of Alaska, and Dorothy Farnman, 32, whose home state was unknown, drowned Friday after the small boat capsized near the Stone Arch, a coastal landmark near the popular tourist spot in Baja California.
Carnival reported that 17 passengers from its Elation cruise ship were aboard the locally operated water taxi when it capsized shortly after 9 a.m. Friday. The cruise ship left Los Angeles for a week’s cruise in Mexican waters July 8.
Seven other Carnival passengers were injured, though none seriously, Cabo San Lucas Red Cross official Moises Ruiz said Saturday.
