First Come Police, Then Comes Marriage

Colorado’s House speaker plans to leave politics for good next year, thanks to term limits, and marry the woman who got a restraining order against him in May.
Doug Dean, 40, said his decision to wed lobbyist Gloria Sanak had nothing to do with a domestic violence incident involving her.
On May 10, the Colorado Springs Republican used a screwdriver to enter the house the couple shared; Sanak had changed the locks.
Despite calling 911, Sanak insisted that no crime was committed. Sanak got a restraining order but later asked a judge to withdraw it. Dean has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
