MSC.Software Corp. in Santa Ana said Thursday that shareholders have approved its $132-million acquisition of Advanced Enterprise Solutions, a privately held systems and software integrator also based in Santa Ana. Shares of MSC.Software, a provider of information technology software and services, edged up 32 cents to $17.45 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Universal Electronics Inc. , a wireless technology developer in Cypress, said Thursday that Chief Executive Paul Arling has been named chairman, effective Aug. 1. Universal also said Executive Chairwoman Camille Jayne will leave that position to return to the Jayne Group consulting firm, but will remain a board member and consultant. Universal Electronics shares rose 24 cents to $15.19 on Nasdaq.
