From Times Staff Reports
A 16-year-old Palmdale youth was killed shortly after midnight Tuesday when the car he was riding in blew a tire and flipped over on the Antelope Freeway, authorities said.
Ernesto Aranda was one of four people in a 1995 Honda Civic driven by Fernando Leon Jr., California Highway Patrol Officer Rosa Ray said.
The car, which was traveling north, was speeding when the right rear tire apparently burst, Ray said. None of the occupants were wearing seat belts, he said.
