Family Hires Lawyer for Wrongful Death Suit

From Times Wire Reports

The family of a man killed last weekend by Fresno police has hired a veteran lawyer to represent them in a wrongful death suit.

Rebeca Rangel, who helps run the Central California Criminal Justice Committee, said the police killing of Julian Celaya is just the latest symptom of ongoing problems in the Fresno Police Department.

Although Celaya was unarmed, police thought he had a gun when they stopped him for allegedly stealing beer from a liquor store and shot him as he tried to get away.
