$1.2 Million in Grants Will Benefit College
Moorpark College has been awarded $1.2 million in grants to buy teaching equipment, develop more internship-type programs and conduct survey research in several disciplines, school officials said this week.
The funding includes $1 million from California Community Colleges and about $200,000 from three companies in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, according to Jeanne Bailey, a campus spokeswoman.
The money will be spent on microscopes and other tools for the biotechnology department, video and editing equipment in multimedia disciplines and to create liberal arts and teacher training programs.
