Battle With Firestone a Loss for Ford Devotee

Terril Yue Jones hit the nail on the head with “Ford, Firestone Locked in a War They Can’t Win” [May 27] about Ford and Firestone knocking each other in public, and the harm it is doing to both.

I [just] bought a Lexus SUV and regretfully canceled my long-standing order for a 2002 Explorer. (It was to be built this week, but the plant is shut down to reconfigure after a recall.)

Even though I have driven an Explorer trouble-free for the last seven years and love them enough to have ordered a new one built to my specs, this latest round of negativity is just too much.

I miss my Explorer already, but I cannot afford to bear the cost of Ford’s eroding reputation.
