Illuminating Thought

Despite the objections of some, I find the lighted pylons at LAX one of the best public works created by the city of Los Angeles in many years. I feel they should remain lit because I find their changing colors endlessly fascinating and beautiful. And when lit--by electricity supplied by the DWP--they boldly state that the electricity crisis is not falling upon this city-run department, and they illustrate that government can at times do good things.
