From Times Staff Reports

David C. Miller has been named Burbank Airport’s director of administrative services, overseeing a budget of $68 million, airport officials said Tuesday.

Miller, 55, of Encino, will be responsible for business affairs, including purchasing, budgeting and accounting, at the airport, which serves 4.7 million passengers a year.

Miller previously worked as general manager of Mercury Air Center, which caters to the general aviation community at Burbank Airport. Because of his experience, Miller is familiar with such issues as plans for a new terminal and airport expansion, said airport spokesman Victor Gill.

Miller carries a commercial pilot rating and has logged more than 10,000 hours of flight time, Gill said.

Miller will assume his new position Monday. He replaces Dios Marrero, who became the airport’s executive director in 1999.
