House Approves Bill for Wildlife Corridor

A bill to expand the Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area by 3,700 acres to include a wildlife corridor between the mountains and the Simi hills was approved by the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
The acreage was donated by public and private entities to the recreation area’s conservancy.
The bill, which now must go to the Senate for a vote, was written by Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley); he introduced it to the House with Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks).
