From Times Staff Reports

An Orange County judge rejected attorneys’ pleas Thursday to change the bail for a Huntington Beach police officer who is accused of molesting a teenage girl, authorities said.

Judge Charles Margines ruled that Officer Mark Trachman should remain held on $150,000 bail, according to district attorney’s spokeswoman Tori Richards.

The ruling came despite efforts by Trachman’s attorney, John Barnett, to have his client’s bail reduced and prosecutors’ attempts to have it raised, Richards said.

Trachman, 36, faces four felony counts of performing lewd acts on a child. The charges together carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
