Officials Probe Alleged Theft Involving Officer
A veteran Los Angeles police officer who allegedly stole electronic equipment from an Anaheim store and then scuffled with security guards last Friday is being investigated by Anaheim and LAPD officials, authorities said.
Kurt Blodgett, a 10-year LAPD veteran in Van Nuys, allegedly tried to walk out of a Fry’s Electronics store with two pieces of electronic equipment, said Anaheim Sgt. Rick Martinez.
He struggled with guards outside the store until they handcuffed him, Martinez said. Blodgett has been suspended pending an investigation, said LAPD Officer Jason Lee.
