Supervisors Approve Airline Ticket Surcharge
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Passengers boarding commercial flights at Oxnard Airport will pay a $4.50-per-ticket surcharge, Ventura County supervisors decided this week.
The fee is expected to raise $900,000 in six years to repave runways, update an airport master plan and conduct a noise study.
Four members of the Board of Supervisors approved the plan. Supervisor John Flynn of Oxnard abstained, saying his vote could be a conflict of interest because his home is within 1,500 feet of the airport.
