Senate Democrats will not seek an investigation of a meeting senior White House aide Karl Rove held with Intel Corp. executives while they were seeking federal approval of a proposed merger, Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle said. At the time of the meeting, Rove held stock in Intel.

“Again, I will say as many times as I must say it that we’re not going to engage in payback” for the investigations of top Democratic officials during the Clinton administration, Daschle said on the “Fox News Sunday” program.

When asked if there will be an investigation of Rove, Daschle said, “I don’t see one, no.”
