Credit Card Firms Unwilling to Cut Rates

Share

The last paragraph of “Floored by Credit Card Companies” [June 17] implies that credit card companies want to keep good customers and will consider reducing interest rates in order to do so, if the customer requests such.

My experience has been exactly the opposite, and the companies are unapologetic. I have more than 20 years of AA credit with several credit card companies, and when I requested a reduction in interest rates, they flatly denied me. My response: I cut up their cards.

Credit card companies are not competitive. They are greedy. New customers are a dime a dozen and they know it.
