2nd Condit Interview Yields Little

WASHINGTON — A second interview with Rep. Gary A. Condit (D-Ceres) was “somewhat useful” in the probe of a missing Californian but did not bring investigators closer to solving her disappearance, the District of Columbia police chief said Sunday.
Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey said on ABC-TV’s “This Week” that the one-hour police interview Saturday with Condit, who was friends with 24-year-old Chandra Levy of Modesto, was part of an effort to explore every avenue in the hunt for the woman.
“It was somewhat useful,” he said. “We got some additional information but not a lot that would lead us to Chandra Levy, unfortunately.”
Levy, an intern in Washington, disappeared April 30. She was due to return to California that day.
