Fullerton Defeats Tennessee in Tournament

Cal State Fullerton scored eight times in the first four innings and held on for a 10-6 victory over Tennessee in the Kia Baseball Bash at Goodwin Field.

Center fielder Robert Guzman had four hits and two RBI, third baseman Shawn Norris knocked in three runs and shortstop Mike Rouse added three hits for the Titans (7-7).

Kirk Saarloos extended his scoreless innings streak to 21 by pitching a scoreless ninth.

At the Cal State Fullerton Worth Invitational softball tournament:

Titans win two--Gina Oaks played a key role in both victories.

Oaks doubled with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Titans came from behind to beat San Jose State, 2-1, in their first game.

And she provided 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief as the Titans defeated Oregon, 6-0, in the nightcap. Oaks struck out seven and didn’t allow a hit as she improved her record to 8-3.
