Neutrogena to Install First Solar System
Neutrogena Corp. and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said the personal care products maker will install a $1.4-million, 200-kilowatt solar system as part of a new DWP incentive system. The system, to be installed at the Neutrogena headquarters near Los Angeles International Airport, will be the first major corporate system in the program in which DWP provides a $5-per-watt incentive to install systems manufactured within the city and $3 per watt for systems manufactured outside the city. Neutrogena, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, said the rooftop system will supply 20% of Neutrogena’s monthly power needs. “We are excited that Neutrogena Corp. is stepping up and assuming the role of the first major Los Angeles-based company to sign up for solar,” said Angelina Galiteva, DWP director of strategic planning. The system is expected to begin operating in July.
