Jet Blast Caused by Bomb, Minister Says

The blast that destroyed a jetliner over the weekend just before Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was due to board was caused by a bomb that included sophisticated plastic explosives, the defense minister said.
Local media have speculated that the attack might have been linked to Thaksin’s pledge to stem the trade in heroin and methamphetamines.
