Struggling Aspeon Inc., an Irvine maker of point-of-sale systems for the retail and food-service markets, said Wednesday that it has agreed to sell its customer consulting contracts to Aecio Technology Group Inc. for $900,000 in cash.

Aspeon said in a press release that the sale is aimed at cutting operating losses, building cash reserves and focusing on its core Javelin Systems business.

The company also said that it has ended talks on selling its Boston food-service application service provider and Oracle business units for $3.5 million in cash to existing management. The company said the parties couldn’t agree on acceptable terms.
