SMALL FACES

Robbie Williams, England’s biggest pop star of recent years, is set to find out what someone would pay to sleep in his bed--he’s auctioning the bed, along with various other items, to benefit his Give It Sum charity in two Sotheby’s auctions, one online starting Friday, the other live in London on April 10. . . .

He’s not going to call it the Ben Folds One, but the pianist is working on his first solo album since breaking up Ben Folds Five last year, and he is playing all the instruments--including guitar, which was never used on the group’s sessions. The basic tracks were recorded in a converted church in Adelaide, Australia, with finishing touches being put on in producer Ben Grosse’s L.A. studio. The album’s due in early summer.
