* Scholastic Corp., publisher of the smash-hit Harry Potter books, said profit climbed 88% in its fiscal third quarter to $3.7 million, or 10 cents a share, driven by the success of the Potter adventures and strong sales at its newly acquired Grolier children’s reference materials unit. The New York-based company’s results beat analyst expectations by 2 cents. Revenue in the third quarter, traditionally its second weakest after the first quarter, jumped 37% to $433 million. Excluding Grolier, revenue rose 6%.
