Healey for Controller

* I was very disappointed The Times supports politics as usual in Los Angeles with your endorsement of City Councilwoman Laura Chick for controller (March 12). The citizens have another choice that would provide an urgently needed, independent, watchdog oversight of the city’s budget and expenditures. That candidate is Laurette Healey. I had the privilege of meeting Healey for the first time last month. As a chief financial officer, her depth of knowledge and accomplishments in financial and planning practices are impressive.
