NeoTherapeutics’ Loss Narrows in 4th Quarter

Irvine biopharmaceutical company NeoTherapeutics Inc. incurred a net loss of $11.5 million, or 88 cents a share, for the fourth quarter, down from a net loss of $12.2 million, or $1.47 a share, for the 1999 fourth quarter, which included a charge of $2.5 million for a legal settlement.

For the year, the company posted a net loss of $46.4 million, or $4.37 a share, compared with a 1999 net loss of $26 million, or $3.68 a share.

The development-stage company reported no revenue.
