Adopting a Pet Gets 2nd Animal Neutered
People adopting pets at the county’s animal shelter today will be given a certificate to have a second pet neutered for free at a local veterinary clinic.
The shelter expects to hand out at least 100 certificates between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. as part of Spay Day USA activities. All adopted animals are already neutered before they are released to new homes.
Adopters will be matched with veterinarians in their area, a shelter spokeswoman said.
The certificates can be used for another family pet or can be given to a friend. People adopting pets today will also receive free dog treats or a bag of cat litter.
The shelter is at 561 The City Drive S. in Orange.
