Studio City Library

* I am in total agreement with the letter from Anthony Slide concerning the new library in Studio City (March 18). I have been opposed to the architect’s version since the first renderings several years ago, as a member of the board of the Studio City Residents Assn. I feel that a huge amount of money has been spent on glitz and not enough on substance. The entire rental library of current books for a daily small charge has been eliminated. There are dozens of empty shelves.

I have been using the library in Sherman Oaks during the years since Studio City has been closed. Now as I cannot find books to read in Studio City, I have been forced to remain a client of Sherman Oaks. And now that this library is faced with closure for a new library, I hope those who get involved will be more watchful than we were in Studio City.
