Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” opens Friday in Granada Hills--the first of the Granada Theatre’s new “Broadway in Concert” series. The production will be a pared-down concert of the show’s music, sans costumes and sets. In 1998 production with James Lapine won three Tonys, including best book and best score. It also won the 1988 Drama Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award for best musical. The show has such classic fairy-tale characters as Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood woven into the folk tale of the Baker and his Wife.
