Racial Profiling
* Re “Surgeon Says Rampart Officers Injured Him,” March 28: Concerned citizens of Los Angeles need to challenge the outstanding field of mayoral candidates to see who can come up with a workable strategy, plan, educational technique or decisive punitive response--or all of the above--that will serve as an incentive to end once and for all the racial profiling which has been going on in this city for as long as I can remember.
Whichever candidate has the guts not just to talk about this situation but to find a viable way to treat it deserves our wholehearted support. Dr. Angelo Gousse must be the last one to be demeaned, humiliated and physically abused for being the “wrong” color. These tactics are just a different form of lynching.
