President Allegedly Drove Stolen BMW
From Times Wire Reports
President Luis Gonzalez Macchi drove a BMW that was stolen in neighboring Brazil and smuggled into Paraguay, a lawyer for the company that insured the car said.
Julio Cesar Martinessi said the luxury BMW 528i had an original price of $120,000; Macchi’s office bought it for $81,000. Martinessi said his firm would ask for the return of the car, which the president’s office has turned over to State Prosecutor Alejandro Nissen.
Macchi has declined to comment on the matter.
